![]() ![]() It is a tad lighter than the 602 (both with batteries in), I do not like super light mice, they feel cheap to me. I found the 604 has everything the 602 doesn't have. Tried also playing Starcraft II which requires steady hands when it comes to microing and worked like a charm. It's all decent build quality, but Logitech uses a lot of materials that make things comfortable that are either brittle or very soft, which means that over time you get these issues. I think the core of the issue is the same as what you're experiencing, though. The worst part is the plastic on the G900 that has deteriorated significantly and even feels rough to the touch. It is, the rubber just gets really shiny where fingers go, and it gets that rougher deteriorated look at the edges. Note that the G900 is ~3 years old at this point, the MX Master is maybe one year old and the MX Keys is a month or two old. I love the feel and performance of Logitech peripherals, but I absolutely cannot recommend them to someone who needs something reliable for multiple years, because even though the build quality is decent the materials used seem lacking at best.Įdit: Some pics here. I don't eat at my PC, wash my hands with soap and water a few times per day, so really no reason they should be deteriorating this quickly. I don't use any aggressive cleaning chemicals, just wipe down my peripherals with a microfiber cloth every other day-ish and clean the hard/metal parts with some isopropyl alcohol every so often. Similarly, the keycaps of my MX Keys have started to look glossy after just a few months of use! The rubber around my MX Master 3 is completely glossy and has started to show the same deterioration around the edges. Click issues on my G900 and G600 were fixed easily by resetting the spring, also swapped the pads of the G900 after ~1.5 years, but the biggest issue is the shell.Īpparently my fingers are pretty greasy and/or the oils in my skin pretty acidic, because the right-hand side of my G900 is literally black and looks like someone's been trying to smoke it. If only the G502 have G604's side buttons, it would be the perfect MMO mouse for me.īoth my G900 and my MX Master 3 had significant deterioration of the shell after only a few months. The multi-click issue on the LMB & RMB switch could be down to the humid climate of Taiwan, but it is still a bit disappointing that this issue still persist across 3 lines of logitech products.Ĭouple this with the lack of purchasable parts on the internet, I think G502 is still a solid choice over the G604. It visibly deforms, warps & detached itself after only 1 year of use. The rubber "blanket" for a lack of a better word is so much more fragile compared to the coating-type application on the G502. Might replace the top shell in the future.Ĭut to today, the G604 feels like a downgrade in terms of produce longevity compared to the G502. Amazing durability despite some abrasion to the rubber coating after many years of use on the top shell. Bought replacement wheel on aliexpress, swapped it and the dang mice lives on up till today. The replacement mouse held on for 4 years before the scroll wheel gone kaput. The first one had multi-click issue on RMB after almost 2 years of use, reported it and got a replacement hero-version mouse from Logitech. To add to the post: I've been a fan of Logitech mice since forever! Their customer service had been excellent based on my past personal experiences.īefore using G604, I've had used two G502 before spanning 6 years of usage iirc.
